Tavi Parusel

Expedition Videographer - Filmmaker

Tavi Parusel is a young filmmaker who is passionate about creating films that inspire, motivate and move people.

Since a young age Tavi has had strong interest in film which led him to become an actor for many years. But he was keen on telling real life stories. This interest led him to study in the Capilano University Documentary Program, where he has graduated and is now launching his career. He was a director, cinematographer and editor on numerous film projects within the university.

In his youth, Tavi’s stepfather led many global journeys around the world. In one expedition his stepfather led a group of young people travelling under human power from the North Pole to the South Pole. The purpose of the expedition was to raise awareness about environmental issues. Tavi was engaged in this project throughout his youth which inspired him and made him want to help make the world a more sustainable place to live. He recently completed a documentary on this pole-to-pole project and hopes that it will bring further awareness on environmental issues to the general public.

Tavi is also very passionate about music. He began playing the piano at the age of eight. By the time he was ten he had composed a full musical piece. Tavi also enjoys activities such as sailing, surfing, rock climbing, soccer and hiking. He currently resides in North Vancouver.

Finding Coral is his first marine research expedition and he is very excited to be a part of the team.
